Mentioned In Dispatches Lord Hunt of Wirral

In The Times reports here on work by the committee headed by Lord Hunt of Wirral looking into the Government Legal Services Bill.

There are some choice quotes showing how he identifies some of the dangers inherent in the government proposals:

"This is all about the Government wanting to control the legal profession and we have pointed out the great dangers in allowing it to do that."

"The legal system must not only be independent, it must be perceived as being independent. To command general support and confidence, regulation must be proportionate and genuinely arms-length."

Please keep up the good work.
