Prescott uber alles
The Daily Mail reports here on the latest alleged Prescott gaffe. Apparently "a Labour MP claimed he had branded George Bush's administration 'cr*p'." This has been denied by his office and some MPs can't remember the comment being made, but one MP is adamant it was.
In any event it is somewhat irrelevant as we're told that: "But whatever his exact words, reports of the meeting threatened a diplomatic row." Clearly any such diplomatic row with America at this juncture would be unfortunate, but Prescott "walks on water" as it were; and is untouchable quite why this is so has been the subject of speculation, but it seems there is no damage he can do, either to the party or the government that will result in him being sacked.
It appears likely that Prescott can add damaging our relationship with America to his list of achievements, but don't worry, I say he still won't be sacked. What can be put in the balance that will weigh against Prescott? Nothing I say, there is nothing as precious or as valuable.
Truly a case of Prescott above all.
