Blair goes on and on
The Times clearly being short of a story dedicates acres of space here to ZaNuLabour's succession.
Whilst not being a fan of Blair, regarding his deaprture date, I couldn't care less; not least becasue we still won't see a change from a statist interfering busybody government. We'll probably get more of the same, but with a leader of lower intellect.
I very much doubt Brown has the guts to try and get rid of him. Blair also has the support of "Teflon" John Prescott and his union connections. It's difficult to see anything else likely to threaten him. In fact I find it strange that he has given a 50 minute interview on the subject. He must just be getting paranoid and trying to prevent some imagined plot. Alternatively perhaps there is a real story flying around and he's using this as some sort of smokescreen.
A typical non-story.
Of far more importance is the quote towards the end: "In a separate interview Mr Blair has set out plans for state intervention to prevent potentially problem babies becoming problem teenagers of the future. He said teenage mothers could be forced to accept state help before their children were born as part of a clampdown on antisocial behaviour."
Once again I'm struggling to understand what precisely Blair is talking about, nevertheless the gist of it is clear enough:- more state interference note the words: "forced to accept". Talk about "I'm from the government and I'm here to help". Notice how "teenage mothers" are to be targetted, the big bully won't pick on anyone likely to stand up to him.
Well as far as I'm concerened I don't care who leads ZaNuLabour and as for your statism: Shove it where the sun doesn't shine!
