Dodgy leftie? Loose in York
Yesterday, passing the offices for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation* I noticed the gates were closed and there was a large police presence.
The offices which cannot be seen from the road are situated in extensive grounds, I concluded that either a body had been found in the grounds, or some nasty criminal was on the loose.
The incident was reported in the local paper and readers can go here and judge for themselves the accuracy of my conclusions.
* - A "charity" (left wing "think" tank) named after and possibly set up by a true philanthropist and Quaker Joseph Rowntree (quite what he'd think of what it produces is anyone's guess). The offices are situated in one of his former properties and substantial private grounds, as befits any leftie "think" tank.
