Mentioned In Dispatches Mr Ian Charlson
The Times reports here on a High Court victory for Mr Ian Charlson who is seeking to bring a private prosecution in connection with the death of his son.
The Crown Prosecution Service started proceedings, but then discontinued them. The magistrates court had initially denied him permission to bring the prosecution and now they'll have to reconsider the case.
The words of Mr Justice Silber are relevant he said such actions are an "effective safeguard against improper inaction by the prosecuting authority".
So to Mr Ian Charlson, for refusing to be put off by inaction from the state, and for putting your family above the apparatus of the self-same state I salute you.
