Muslim offence emergency.

The Telegraph reports here on a new Muslim Offence Emergency (MOE) hat tip to Daily Ablution for the phrase.

According to the article His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI quoted Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus speaking to a Persian scholar after the siege of Constantinople in 1391 where he said: “Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

Anyway there has been an outpouring of criticism of His Holiness from the religion of peace. According to the article: "Today’s protests raised fears ..." well I'm not sure quite who is afraid apart from the media, but there you have it.

From the article again: "Muslim clerics from Cairo to Kashmir declared the Pope had revived the spirit of the medieval crusades ..." well I think they maybe need to study the crusades some more, and then perhaps they might get an idea of what they're talking about.

For the article: "Gulf-based cleric, Sheikh Youssef al-Qardawi today called on Muslims to protest, saying: “Muslims have the right to be angry and hurt by these comments from the highest cleric in Christianity.”" I say we all should be told the truth, has there actually been anything new from Islam that wasn't evil and inhuman?

If someone had said this about Christianity or Roman Catholicism, I'd have either answered it by pointing to achievements that were neither evil or inhuman, showing the error of the argument, or simply not bothered. Go ahead and protest all you want, protesting doesn't alter facts, facts are stubborn things, protesting without proving the falseness of the statement will simply show how true it is. After all if the statement was false why are you getting so worked up about it? The Truth hurts doesn't it? After all if you could prove His Holiness The Pope was in error why don't you?

More from the article: "The head of the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood appealed to Islamic countries to threaten to break off relations with the Vatican unless the Pontiff withdrew his remarks." Yes that's right, you've got no answer so you have to threaten, but Truth will out.

Again from the article: "Turkey’s ruling AKP party joined the criticism. Its deputy leader likened Pope Benedict to Hitler." They can't seem to make up their mind about Hitler these Muslims, one minute they're saying Hitler was wonderful and the next they're comparing people they don't like to him. Well which is it? Do you know? Are you capable of coherent argument?

"The Vatican has so far refused to apologise..." Good, don't you dare apologise, there's nothing to apologise for here. It's time certain people learn they aren't the only ones on the planet and the sooner they grow up and become capable to accepting a little bit of criticism without a hissy fit the better.
