Our money well spent
The local "news"paper reports here on money saving advice being given to the local NHS Trust. Apparently KPMG have been sent in to help it out of a financial black hole.
The cost of KPMG's advice is likely to be in the region of £500,000.00p. It might not have been so bad had they actually come up with something worthwhile, but the reported "savings" are all simply cuts reported as:
"Cutting beds at Grove House care home: saving, £50,000.
Reducing short-stay child hospital admissions; saving, £207,000.
Out-of-hours doctors: saving, £116,000.
Cutting GP hospital referrals: saving, £1.28million.
Cutting hospital operations: saving, £1.86million."
It's hardly a work of genius, anyone could have come up with this list, or maybe picked some options out of a hat, it certainly isn't half a million pounds worth of work.
The state is so incompetent; they can't even cut inefficient spending efficiently.
