Images and spin? Good if they send the "right" message...
The Times reports here on some abortionists bleating about some pictures showing babies inside the womb. The pictures aren't shown online for some strange reason, but can be seen in the paper copy.
Apparently these "emotive photographs" have "clouded the debate"; phrases I find interesting particularly as no one in the MSM has said anything of the sort about the pictures from "Qana" during the latest bout of war in the Lebanon see here for The Corruption of the Media Report from EU Referendum.
Anyway from reading the article, it appears that the problem is that it shows the babies as far too human and: "Doctors and researchers, however, said yesterday that the images had confused the public about the real state of the science." Indeed quite the fact that the babies look human should not be allowed to detract from the fact that they are just a "collection of cells"; and that killing them isn't really killing at all because that is all they are.
The good doctors continue: "“But there was also a temptation to associate these movements — sucking a thumb, gasping as if talking — with adult movements, to think it is sucking its thumb because it is happy. It’s that feeling which I think is extraordinarily dangerous.”" Note how just that someone might be thinking that is: "extraordinarily dangerous", quite how dangerous are my thoughts? Compare and contrast with abortion, which isn't dangerous at all. I don't quite know that the "official" explanation is for the thumb sucking, perhaps it is just a coincidence that the thumb was in the baby's mouth. Quite how the baby can have a thumb and a mouth when "it's just a collection of cells" remains a mystery to me. Mind you the phrase "collection of cells" can be correctly applied to all life on the planet, including fully grown humans, who consist mainly of water, does that make it OK to drink them?
